Cunderdin visitors

Photo of our Cunderdin visitors.Nine members of the Cunderdin Men’s Shed drove all the way down to visit our shed as part of their ‘social excursion’ activities.  A cuppa, lots of chat, a tour of our shed, showing the kinds of things we’re doing, culminating in a warm invitation for Vincent Men’s Shed to visit Cunderdin Men’s Shed anytime.

The Minister was there to announce grants for Men’s Shed in WA, his Department did give us a grant of $5000.00 earlier on this year to go towards the Dust Extractor. The Minister & his people were impressed with our shed, especially the cleanliness & positive energy.

Shed Trainer

We now have a dedicated trainer at the Shed: Bruce Carman.  Bruce’s role will be to mark of all members who attend the shed as competent at their level of use of tools, power tools & machinery.  We will be using a colour coded dot system that will indicate their level of competency to be placed on their name badges.

Committee update (January 2015)

Inductions

A short induction to the shed needs to happen before a new member can use the workspace of the shed. We are also endeavouring to check all members of as competent in using the power tools & machinery they need to use. We are also wanting to introduce training on equipment as & when we have the people to do the training, this is (work in progress).
