Grill’d Donation Initiative

Hi members,

I want to share some exciting news: we have a jar at Grill’d Leederville once again! For those who may not be familiar, Grill’d has a fantastic initiative where every time you dine there, you receive bottle caps to place in one of three jars, and we are lucky enough to have one of those jars.

At the end of the month, the jar with the most caps will receive a generous donation of $500.00 from Grill’d. This is a wonderful opportunity for us, as the money will be incredibly useful when we concrete the floor between the containers.

So, the next time you’re craving a delicious burger, head over to Grill’d Leederville, enjoy your meal, and don’t forget to drop your caps in our jar. Every cap counts and brings us one step closer to our goal.

Thank you for your support and participation!

Cheers, Roy

Cyber Security

Hi Members

As I’m sure you are aware cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated, and it is easy to get caught out.

The Commonwealth Bank will come in on Thursday at 10.30 to talk to us about new threats and reinforce what they have told us previously on how to avoid being caught out.

It is extremely important that we stay abreast with all the knowledge we can get so as not to be caught up in a scam and loose thousands of dollars.

Look forward to seeing you on Thursday.

Shed Procedures

Hi members

To reiterate a few shed rules all sanding with the orbital sanders must be done outside the shed.

The handheld router must also only be used outside the shed.

Please continue to clean up after yourselves and do not use the blower to clean the shed floor.

The reason for this is to keep the dust level in the shed as low as possible.

The roof will be installed over the containers on Friday and in the next week or two a permanent power point will also be installed.

We are also planning to close in the back and improve the working area between the containers.

Inductions are now available for the new drill press and wood lathe. Please see Dave or Pete.

With the new tag on system on the saw stops it is important for you to ensure when you are finished to switch the saw off at both switches, the power switch and the tag on switch.

If you don’t switch off the tag on switch you won’t be logged off and if someone else comes and uses the saw and triggers the brake you will be responsible for a new brake and blade as

according to the computer you were the one logged on.

So please make sure you tag off when finished with the saw.

Cheers Roy

Course for the New Lathe

We would like to arrange a course on the new lathe. The person to give the course will be from the Joy of Wood. If you are interested in doing this 3-hour course, please let me know so I can plan and arrange it. The cost will be $30.00 per member with the shed subsidising the balance. Cheers Roy.
